What To SendPictures for the Gallery should be of Chapter events, or the scenery and activities surrounding them. They should be yours, and not encumbered by copyrights or other legal entanglements. The best format is JPG, which is supported by most, if not all, digital cameras and scanner software. They should be at least 800x600 (or 600x800) pixels. You do not need to crop, resize or otherwise process the pictures...the Chapter Photographer can do that for you. Just take them, and send them in (see below) and the Photographer and Webmaster will take care of the rest! How To SendThe best way to send in multiple pictures is to ZIP them into a compressed archive file using any common ZIP program (PKZIP, WinZIP, etc.), and then send the ZIP file as an e-mail attachment. This method keeps the size as small as possible, and reduces the chances that any of your pictures will get lost in processing. If you can't ZIP the picture files, or if there's only one picture involved, you can just send them as individual attachments. If you don't have e-mail access with enough bandwidth, or have too many pictures to cram into the Chapter Photographer's mailbox, you can burn your pictures to a data CD and send that in or hand it to him in person. However you send them, make sure you include your name so we can put your name on the gallery and give you credit for your work. Sometimes several people will submit pictures of the same event and the Chapter Photographer will combine them, and sort them into chronological order as much as possible, eliminating duplicates and adjusting things so they all look good together. Individual pictures will not be attributed, but the names of all photographers will appear on the gallery thumbnails page. Where to SendTo get your pictures to the Chapter Photographer in e-mail, send the ZIP file, or individual picture files, to photographer@mchog.com. If you've created a CD, you can give it to the chapter photographer in person. What NOT To Do
